The student staff is an important part of the day to day operations and the summer turn around process. SAMs will be placed in a double room with a roommate. Position Description Provide customer service as the face of Housing & Residence Life (H&RL) while working primarily from the main office reception area. SAMs are compensated $15/hr plus the cost of their room. Summer SDAs are compensated $15 per hour. Summer Student Assistantsĭuring the summer, service desk assistants (SDAs) and Summer Assistant Manager (SAM) can assist with summer housing, check ins and check outs, preparing the buildings and keys for Fall Opening, assisting with microfridges, helping camps and conferences, and other unique tasks in the summer. Student assistants during the year are paid hourly for their work. Student assistants in the area offices during the year may assist with working the desk, answering phones, helping students, assisting with room checks, helping students with room changes, filing, and generally helping the area secretary and area coordinator with office work. CAs and RAs that fail to remain in good standing could receive sanctions, probation, and/or termination. Good conduct standing is defined as not being in a current probationary status, having completed all imposed sanctions for violations of the Student Code of Conduct, or having a substantial previous conduct file. Residence Life employs students that live in the residence halls to provide information, guidance, and support to other students.
